RIP Sean Nguyen

Post by jury »

I realise probably nobody here would have known Sean, but I just wanted to share his passing.

Sean was well known in the local Porsche and VW scene. Previously working with Rod Emory, he had his own shop and business south of Portland and was highly regarded. In addition to his own work, he was often called into the local independent shops to offer his services for both 4 and 2 wheels.

I had personally met Sean a few times over a Beer and discussed all things mechanical. In fact I had spoken with him last Thursday regarding some parts and upcoming floorpan work on the 912.

Sean tragically took his own life over the weekend...The details of the incident are there, but we will never know what demons he was fighting...sadly this is becoming too common.

At this time of global imbalance and instability, it is again a stark reminder to look out for one another.

RIP Sean...Gone too young, but not forgotten

Very sad. Rod Emory has written a heartfelt tribute on his Instagram.

So sad, this is becoming more common.
If only we could pull people through this dark period of their life they'd probably live to a ripe old age.

Yes, reach out to your friends, real and online. Taking your own life is unfair to those you leave behind and also a waste of your life and your potential. Despite what we think, we all are special in a unique way to our friends.

RIP Sean.
