I have a pair of these gaskets I won't be using now. If you'd like them PM me you address and I'll send them on.

Midnight mad question time. What is the best tool to remove the 13mm nuts from the studs of the heat exchanger. I’ve got the Allen key ones off just couldn’t find a bendy tool to remove the other nuts. I’m in the race against time before I get locked down in the lock up lol

1/4 drive long extension will poke through the exchanger holes, but you will need the 1/4 drive allen to.
I took a socket from my 1/4 set and cut a standard allen key off a wrench and glued it in the socket.
Be very sure the socket is much smaller diameter than the tube in the exchangers, if it jams in there it is very hard to get it out!

The 1/4 ratchet wrench stops you applying too much torque on the stud!

Cheers for the info. I managed to get the left exchanger off the car and sure enough there was loads of old oil a gunge in the bottom of the exchanger all the way to the end of the rear of it. I gave it a blast with the car wash lance . Straight away I could now see that the unit is not an airtight unit as I’ve always assumed. Anyway I got it back on yesterday (tues) and started car up. No mad smoke emerged so beaming with pride I confidently locked the garage happy. I announced to my son and wife that daddy was a hero and we would finally take the car out the next day. My son went to bed and an hour later boris put the whole country in lock down lol. I love irony

Many thanks to everyone . Thanks for the gaskets. This problem has caused a great deal of stress and money over the past year. It did however make me learn new skills and take me passion and resilience to new limits. A journey indeed. Thank you all again. Kind regards Michael
