So pleased to get the car MOT'd as many know not as easy at it sounds here in NI as they are super strict! Anyways MOTD sorted then a 3 week wait for Porsche to send the Certificate of Conformity as the DVLA wouldn't accpet the PCNA version..... Then another 3 weeks for DVLA to get me the vehicle registration - so for the first time the car is 100% legal on the road taxed (well exempt) and insured just in time for the salt going down on the roads...

The registration is from Co. Fermanagh but its not from 67 or even close, they (DVLA) seem to have released these numbers in Dec 2004 and they are current. I can only assume they did this to satisfy the demand for "period" registrations here in NI. I quite like it cause it looks "old" and obviously dateless and to most it could well be period as has no prefix. Most of the other XX 1234 numbrs ended in the 50's early 60's with the 1234 XX number continuing through the 60's to early 70's - but it's neat IMO.

Plate suits it well. So what’s it like to drive?

Its a blast... think go-kart.... the car has adjustable ARB's front and rear so direction changes are lighteningly quick yet not a harsh ride. Vey well balanced with quite slow progressive oversteer when pushed hard on accelleration. Still staying on a slower version of slow-in-fast-out until we see how it behaves under agressive braking.

I will over the next year backdate ARB's and bring it back to original spec with a view of perhaps getting FIA papers.. who knows..

The transmission has a short ratio racing gear set so revs its head off so need to address that - not sure if CW&P has been changed or if all the internal ratios need changed, first gear feels very short. - again i've spare ratios and CW&P's and will sort the transmission out when replacing the original 2.0L engine. In short loving the car..

Yes, you've done a fabulous job preserving this car in just the right way. Like it very much.

I'm toying with taking it out in the NI Hillclimb series - not for all rounds but might do a few selected hills - the close ratio transmisson would help it. I did the "hills" years ago (with MikeB) winning class championships in a 2.7 Carrera rep. Might be fun to do a few more?

Why 'might'? :)

Got to be done. If you were over here there would be several classes you could enter, mixing it with Moderns or Historics.
