Well, I've discovered a 914 is a lot wider than a Beetle and a much tighter squeeze on my old trailer than a SWB 911/912. Had to climb out of the window once loaded and only a couple of inches to spare width-wise.

Engine jump-started OK and I was delighted to discover all the paperwork history the owner promised was in the front trunk, along with original owner's manual in its wallet, etc. Only problem I've found so far is that the door locks need sorting as the driver's door needs a firm slam, while the passenger one doesn't lock/unlock, even when using the internal lock button. Door panel off and take a look at the linkage, methinks.

Apart from that, it (so far, famous last words etc) exceeds my expectations. As long as it isn't rusty in places I can't see right now, hopefully I can concentrate on fun bits...

That was a looooonnnnnng day, so time for a beer, watch Masterchef and MotherFatherSon and read some history. Cheers!
