Phew !
Edit, my engine will turn up in 8 years time and I'll be wishing it was only 10k.

To be honest guys..... rather than looking for a needle in the hay stack!! You could have a period perfect peice, and enjoy the car till the hay stack burns down and reveals the needle...
Just my opinion from a guy who likes driving what he builds....

Re: porsche 356 engine
Completely agree My ‘replacement’ engine has 1720cc so I’d probably still keep the original on the shelf if I ever found it.
It’s like having date matched wheels, the car doesn’t drive any differently with them, it’s just a satisfying box ticked knowing that you have the car closer to the way it left the factory. At the same time I’m running a Sebring exhaust, different seats, no bumpers, aircraft gauges, etc so that throws that theory out the window

You might be headlining at Glastonbury before you find the original engine for your cabHendrik Moulds wrote:Very true, I have an engine for my car.

Yes! I should have just taken it all off his hands - but it was all melted
There was about 10 x engines and I often wonder what the numbers were
