wrong badge?

Post by Mike Usiskin »

hi all,

simple question I think, anyway

my 1972 911 has a T after it's number ok. so it's a 911T, however mechanic says not so, as it has mechanical fuel injection so it's an E as E stands for well , something German meaning injection. Is he right in which case why would it have the wrong badge on it ?

TTFN

Mike
former owner, still hoping to be reunited with my STOLEN 1972 911T/E 2.4 . Keep looking guys

No Hydrocarbons were hurt in the sending of this mail. Thanks

US 2.4T models (up until mid-way thro' the '73 model year) had mfi whereas Euro 2.4T's had Zenith carbs.

Hey Mike,
Your cooling shroud is yellow right? in which case Nick and Andy are on the money, It is a U.S. Spec 72 T, or TE as they are sometimes called :)
Viv, I thought the 73.5 runs on K-Jet (CIS) doesn't it?

Darren's on the 73.5 money - US 73.5 2.4T cars went CIS, but interestingly (or not), the injectors were still in the cylinder heads a la MFI's, whilst for the 2.7 models, the injectors moved to the intake manifolds.

Can I have my anorak back now please?
