International Autosport Show, NEC

Post by 911hillclimber »

As ever, went to the Trade/Competitor's day which includes the Engineering show.
More expensive than ever, always say I won't go next time, but....can't resist.

I was there at the beginning of the week for a different show and even the hotel parking next to the NEC was £12 per day

Yep, £28 in, £16 parking.
£7.50 for a coffee and bun, £8 for a tea and Panini at lunch.

Spent £15 on garage consumables needed for my 911 re-build.

I did, however, drive from the depth of home just after the rush hour, got gently driven into in the traffic, drove down the M5/M40/M42 without stopping, into the NEC, and parked and got on a bus that left 60 seconds later to entrance #1, all without a queue.
Getting out was the same!

Bicester could lean a few tricks, but the NEC cost is high and the attendance massive, someone is getting a good tickle from this.

Whenever I go to the NEC (which is rare these days) I go by train - there's an indoor link between the NEC & Birmingham Intl station ...

For dog show, people park at the airport, presumably because it’s cheaper !!

Was that lama or whatever it’s called? Sent two of my guys for a nosey but not caught up with them yet. The farmer down the road said it was a bit of a jumble..

I was thinking of heading to the Autosport show after work tomorrow but it’s £45 just to drop in for a couple of hours by the time you cover entry, parking and a coffee.. ..I just can’t justify it, especially when I only really want to visit two companies and drop in on a mates stand to say hi!

Yes Lamma show. It’s Just moved from its previous base at Peterborough show ground. Fantastic show this year compared to standing in a tent

And what is that Porsche 935 nonsense about. Looks like contrived rubbish to me!

Enjoyed the show and got a great helmet at a good price.
