Engine lid for early 911s

Post by Nick Moss »

I have just ordered and received an engine lid, ordered from Porsche, for a 1970 911. It is correct for a post 78 911, no holes for the letters or rear number plate lights, indent for the Turbo intercooler, the part number is 911.512.010.56 GRV. I have seen and I'm sure have promoted here correct lids for pre 73 cars. Am I imagining it or do these correct lids exist?

I have recently seen an ad by Dansk for various year models for the rear lid, £600 I think, available from Design 911/ Type 911, but no holes for letters etc.
