Flat 4 Drive : 10am 16 Sep Hook Norton Brewery OX15 5NY

Post by neilbardsley »

Let meets at the Hook Norton Brewery at 10am. Thanks to Danny for finding this. It appears he was selflessly researching the products over the weekend!

Route and final lunch/coffee place to be published. Seeing that I normally off of course at the first turn I'm not sure how important a route map is :)

What do people think about rhdracer's idea of finishing at the Porsche Club Hill Climb Championship at Shelly Walsh? I like the idea. Anybody else keen?

Neil

Although a hill climb would be a good thing to see, it wouldn't really be a drive as such and may not have the vibe of the previous events, (drive around, get lost, stop at a cafe, chat over cake, etc), My vote would be to bimble over some nice country roads and scare the locals

Can I ask a question

Why is this in the members section and not in the future events section?

I posted in here by mistake but I figure most people coming are members so we are ok?

Probably worth posting a thread in future events with a link to this one - then if anybody can't access the information they need to join!

My preference would be to keep the format it the way it was.
Going to Shesley Walsh for the day won't feel like the flat 4 drive for me.
plus we'll all be £20 better off

As the phrase goes - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have to agree with Danny im afraid.
A simple drive for the sake of a drive.
If I were to go to Shelsley Walsh I would want to be there earlier and spend all day.

Good point. Besides which any drive which starts at a brewery will be going nowhere fast.

Ok no hill climb then.

Shall I still look for somewhere for lunch/coffee (as long as it's less than £20!!)?

Greatworth Classic are offering to let us finish at their place so that we can do a 'Tune your car Workshop'. I was actually thinking that since they are offering maybe we do it a little differently. We have the optional Workshop from say 9:30 to 11am then go for the drive afterwards. I was thinking that most are waiting to relax afterward? Then we can finish at the Brewery? Or do we keep the 2 events separate?

That sounds quite interesting to me Neil and then we end up at the brewery at the end of the day!
Thank you for your efforts.
