Stripey Monday...... what a pain masking it out for red/blue stripes, of course this would have been easier if we had taken measurements or a made template before painting..... what the hell sure its fun doing stuff the old skool way i.e. the same way as it was done originally -making tape at one end, bring it over the car and stick done at the other end - job done...

Doing the stripes on El Chucho took hours of masking, so I sympathise. You should have painted it silver – saved a lot of effort.

That's nearly as funny as the paintshop guys saying they painted the stirpes green/orange over the weekend.....

You’ve made the right choice. The car is going to look great. And that’s from a guy who thinks originality is always best!

Mike

First pics of the 67s with red/blue stripes - the paint is barely dry! Very pleased as we've got it as close to the original colour and lines as it was previously. The only change to the previous colour scheme was to paint the unpainted (number) circle on the luggage compartment lid - see last pic - not sure if I want numbers on the car, if I do I'll stick on a white vinyl oval/circle then my numbers, but thought that if the car had no numbers then it might make the luggage lid look odd? Paintwork needs a good bake tonight then a very quick rub down before glasurit clear coat tomorrow.
