With the decent weather recently, took the 911 out for the first time since the suspension strip and self alignment, engine mounts back to stock, 20Kg of sound deadening pads, total re-bleed of the brakes and a full service.

Everything feels great except the tacho has stopped working...
This must be connected to the saga of fitting the LEDs to the instruments and the indicator problem.

Tried swopping the wires around all to no effect, really irritating. Has always worked since putting the 1985 tacho and speedo in the car with the 3.2 engine swop.

Anyway, easy to drive the car without a tacho, but will have to have a go at it on Sunday.

Every time I drive the car I'm amazed how good the steering is when on the go, better than any car I've had.

How can you test if there is a pulse from the ECU to the tacho?

Got the 21st Century Outlaw 997 Door mirror pedestal design sorted yesterday so they can use 997 mounts & still be spring loaded. Then a dry run to check clearances against Glass & Door :)
