Where to source early gearbox parts?

Post by Bruce M »

Hi all,

I'm in need of a small gearbox part for an early 901/914 box.

Its the push action clutch version.

I need the small clutch arm retaining piece that holds the arm on its pivot point.

Any ideas where to get one in the UK. I know Pelican Parts sells them for about $5 but I'd rather get it here.

Do you think a dealership would be able to get it and if so would it have a silly price?

Thanks folks.

Bruce.

Hi, The dealer is worth a go, occasionally they suprise us!

I used Mittelmotor for most of the parts when I rebuilt my 915, all Porsche O.E bits but discounted, even allowing for shipping.

Type 911 are worth a phone call as they buy parts at a very good trade price from their local dealer, add the profit and then send it to you, but still manage to be under Porsche retail!

Good luck.

Call your local OPC.
I use the one in Guildford as they are very helpful & will happily supply small bits like these mail order.
I've just ordered the release arm bush & release bearing guide pieces.
The part you want is 901 116 077 01 - PET shows it as being about a fiver.
