The Dodge Viper is a good reference for the TVR saga. Aesthetics and attitude of the ACR and TVR are similar - you can feel your chest hair growing as you drive it.
But they stopped building them this year as no one was buying them. Is the TVR just wrapping itself in the Union Jack and ignoring younger buyers like the Viper did? It is worth noting the best selling year for the Corvette ever was 1978, when they had the worst engines.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
It looks like they sent a pic of a Ferrari, the latest corvette and an AMG GT to a wannabe car designer in China and this is the result.. So much hype around this car and to be blunt I think it looks shite - just an amalgamation of design cues and dodgy eBay-motors bits. Very little to get excited about
If they wanted to relaunch they should have paid more attention to what triumph did, and less to MG

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Re the TVR, at Goodwood i found myself this afternoon in a bookshop queue next to Gordon Murray and i asked him about the exhaust behind the front wheels and the potential for gassing the car occupants in traffic. He said they tested it very thoroughly and its all good, doesnt go into the cabin, and anyway, he was recycling his design for the Mercedes SLR where it also worked ok too...... Very nice man, also very tall.
No comment on whether its the right car for the time, i think the Tesla competition idea would be a splendid one but as an ex TVR owner from my student days (1971 Vixen), i am glad to see the name back.
And in the flesh, the car looked lovely.

I saw that on Ocean Avenue, Carmel about five weeks ago - GTO Engineering display - they had a blue 250SWB parked by the side of the road about three streets away. I think I saw eleven 250 SWB's in Carmel that week !

I didn't like to mention that there were no pubs in Bedlam... thought you must have spent too much time there.hot66 wrote:Mike ... Apologies .... Realised this is 'your' Bedlam .... Although there was a good murder there down Whipley Lane a couple of years ago.
