1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue

Re: 1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue
.....looking for some more advice. I have noticed that my dash has been cut at the glove box and there seems to be an extra box roughly cut close to I assume fog lights or cigarette lighter area which will be easily fixed but when comparing the holes with some of the cars posted I am not sure if I am missing factory spaces in the dash. Can someone offer an explanation?
The image below is of my dash with 5 box holes across the middle of the dash.
In the workshop there is also a LHD 1972 T hwich shows a different configuration on the dash with 7 holes across the center.
Can someone post a bare RHD 1973 dash for me to use as a reference?

Hi Tom
72 RHD if this helps
This photo was while it was in the process of getting dipped just after burning the paint so a bit awkward to see the detail.
This was before anything was removed.
The toggle switch on the right which I think equates to where you have a square hole is for the power operated aerial.
Regards
Graeme

Tom
If you have the glovebox handbook then the arrangement of the three lower dash pull switches are shown in there. Looks like you might have had an aftermarket 'something' fitted to the Rhd modified/new square hole.
The five square holes on the upper dash seem to be common to all shells. I don't know what purpose they serve. Another school day coming up if someone else knows!

Mike

Thanks all, does anyone know why the LHD cars have seven holes? I will have a look at my manual as well.

Re: 1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue
Hi Tom,
Here is a photo of my RHD 73 dashboard. Please excuse the odd colour, it was a dark photo so I edited it to show the holes you need. Above my radio aperture I have a rear window demist switch and a cigarette lighter (the larger hole).
Sometimes there is a third hole for a fog light switch and my handbook states the order would be rear window demist, then fog light switch and then cigarette lighter. The handbook shows a LHD car so not sure if this would reverse for a RHD.
I too have no idea what the 5 square holes are for. Maybe RHD dash tops were different to LHD?
Kind regards
Gitesh

Re: 1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue
My car is ready to go into paint finally. Assumed this would be the easy part, I have been presented with 4 different shades of Gemini blue, two that are clearly darker than anything I have seen on line, the other two have very subtle differences which unless seen together are hard to spot. Incredible the variations, suppose it comes down to which I prefer given the real difficulty in seeing an original unpainted car. In terms of the two options, 1. slightly silver, green hue 2. slight silver, blue hue. I should qualify both are definitely blue but there is a very very subtle difference.

I will try and take a picture that shows the colour for opinion.

Re: 1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue
All three cards listed as Gemini, the two that I think are the closest are very slightly different. I appreciate I am splitting hairs at tis point but while I have the opportunity to select the colour I really want to try and get the clsoest match to what would have produced by the factory.
Don't suppose anyone has original 73 Gemini car? Happy to send on the colour cards for a match?
I will hope that Mike(210HP) has a keen eye for this in the absence of any original cars.
Regards
Tom

It might help if you posted those pictures under natural (not too bright) daylight Tom.

Tom - I think Vic (Slope330) has recently had his car painted Gemini and will have researched the death out of the subject. Try him in case he can help.
The force is strong in this one ......
