matching# 356C rusty floor donor into a chesil or similiar

Post by Jasper »

Would it be financial madness to use my Matching # 356c with a rusty floor as a donor to make a 356 Speedster, using a Chesil, or similar ? All comments welcome.

It's mental. Pointless. Replace the floor and keep it real (literally).

1. Sell rusty 356
2. Buy used Chesil
3. Profit

Knowing Jasper personally I'd say not a wind up.

The best answer to your question is to visit Dusty ASAP, he's a tasty 356 project underway.

Tks Clive,

Been travelling in the US and far east. I am amazed and staggered at the increase in values of air cooled 911's.
You were very lucky to get yours.( so was I to have started 20yrs ago) and what a good unplanned investment. They have become beyond what most people can afford.

I must assess what needs doing on my 356 C and budget accordingly, I'm in no hurry and this keeps costs down.
I bought a cheap ML 270CDI commercial jeep for towing our boat & cars and got a E46M3 343BHP which is a staggering car for the money £7,500 will get you a nice one, unfortunately Porsches have become too expensive.

There's a chap who owns a RHD super 75 (or parts of) that the previous owner cut up to make some sort of kit car after a road holding error many years ago.....
Not sure who he is or what the car now looks like but I'm sure along the way there have been regrets.
Perhaps others have heard this tale.........?
It doesn't matter if you speak your mind, because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.......!
Lusting after a 30/98, will settle for a 23/60.

Thank you Simon,
Open to all options , but the speedsters are sex on wheels , which means a Chesil or similar , I saw a new one factory built in red, I was impressed. But i'm not donoring my 356C ,I will re floor it when funds are flush.
