356A Rubber Floor mats RHD
Are these available or does anyone have a set that they don't need? For a colleague with a "new' A.
Cheers

There was No `Moulded` RHD Mat for an `A`
The factory cut the mats from Ribbed Rubber Sheeting
They may have reinforced the Cut-out Areas, on the reverse side, with a Cotton Webbing ?
Hendrik - will correct me or add to this ?

That is interesting. Thanks Mike. I can see that Mercantile International have an uncut set that could be adapted for RHD with some careful work..
MYT6 mats are original and seem to have some cotton webbing at key stress points.

Yes - that is what most people do but it depends whether you want your car to look `Period Correct`
Stoddard are now selling RHD Mats but I cannot remember if they are for B`s or `C`s
However, as I said a `Real` A Mat was a pretty homemade affair cut from proprietary brand Ribbed Rubber

Hello Merv, here's a thread from a couple of years ago which will perhaps help you on your quest.

That about covers the subject, eitherHello Merv, here's a thread from a couple of years ago which will perhaps help you on your quest.

1) - Find some ribbed Matting that is close to the `Rib Count` quoted and cut your own mat
2) - A Stoddard RHD `B` Mat
3) - A Mercantile Un-cut LHD `B` Mat & then make the RHD Cuts

As Mike says, all mats for RHD As and earlier were all hand cut. There was no strengthening where they were cut either.
Below is the original mat from my old A. You can see that the rib count and spacing is very different to the B/C mat.

In Metric - Of Course - BUT Who`s Counting?
Right or Wrong, I would reinforce the back of the mat at the Cut Out Area`s
You will have to remove the mats again at some time in the future and all that effort to then put a split in it - would kill me
I hate doing a job twice
