Surely Kleenex would have been more appropriate than bog roll but DC clearly aims to provide all customer 'needs' LOL.

Car looks stunning..what did you decide on the underside and wheel arches

i visited barry to talk about my own shell restoration when this car was on his jig and had rather more holes in it than it has now. I can only hope my own car looks as fantastic after body and paintwork - as it is going to be done by the same 'team', i have high hopes. Love the colour, absolutely stunning!

Thank you for your responses, very kind.

Arches and underside were painted body colour in the end as there didn't appear to be a definitive answer but evidence appeared to point to that.

An interesting sting in the tail of my 'careful driving' last weekend....

As I pulled off the motorway last Saturday night nearly home I was following an old vw golf and a loud 'knocking' could be heard. I thought to myself 'that sounds knackered'..... 5 mins later he turned right in another direction and the noise remained  :( . Following day I rang Landrover assist who swiftly recovered the car to my local dealer who confirmed my fears....."oh dear" was the text I received from the service manager. It's currently sat in a corner awaiting a full brand new engine. Not sure as to the cause....? Caught up with Michael Leonard the other day who accused my "right Bigfoot"

Only 18 months old with 33k miles :(

Been there done that. Don't expect any nice help from Land Rover. Mine was 50k miles. Broken crankshaft. New engine.

Mike

Shame about the LR. As I've discussed with Mike on his if it's the crank it's a known issue that gets ignored. If yours has a full main dealer history you might have more luck. Hope it works out.

If only 18 months old surely it's still under drivetrain warranty?

Landrover apparently agreed within an hour the following day to supply a full new engine under warranty.

No idea how it happened as trailer was empty for most of journey and genuinely was travelling 60mph ish? We have 7 discovery commercials towing every day? Bizarre?

That fact probably helped you get a free new engine! :thumbright:
