Exciting day yesterday, a 670 mile round trip down to Hastings late Friday night to pop in early Saturday to collect last bits from Barry and a quick coffee. Mikes targa shell is about done and looks stunning, think he is going to be very pleased! Next was the pickup of painted shell from DC Coachworks....WOW!!! I must say I was extremely nervous about the paint, Barry had kindly offered to pop over a couple of time during the last week to check gaps and help 'manage my expectations' and when I pulled up any fear disappeared as I was simply blown away!! I never saw the shell when completed at Barry's so this was quite a shock  better than I had ever expected!!

Popped it into the trailer then a drive over to Gary at GDC to drop off for the installation of wiring loom and interior (detail not being my strong point). The sun was now shining so able to take a couple of outside storage shots

I think you agree the combination of Barry's metal work and Steves paint is a good combination :) I'm absolutely over the moon and both were an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout!!

Lovely stuff Adam. Barry mentioned we'd missed you by an hour or 2 on Saturday.
Hope the reassembly goes well.

Thanks guys, yeah I was with Barry at 7am, sorry I missed you but had a busy day. Had to go to see a broken drill rig at Hastings too to identify a hydraulic fault before collecting the shell.

I asked for a light dusting in the front and didnt want a shiny interior. I took on board what people said about the paint and decided on a 'factory' finish as much as possible but with my own personal bits. Appreciate it won't be everyone's taste but so long as work keeps up it's a keeper :)

If there was a tip to share on the forum, you need to be really specific in your instructions to the painter right from the outset. Identify what finish you want and where on the car as painters have their own views and experience which may not match with yours, don't assume you will get what you want. Steve was brilliant throughout and there were no surprises on collection!!

Looks fantastic Adam, not surprised you're happy with it and pleased it met your expectations! You'll really enjoy it once you get it back on the road even though at slightly slower speeds than the GT3!

That looks fantastic - loving the 'glints' from the sun. Congrats - that's a major milestone!

Best parts yet to come, really loving how this is turning out for you.
