Was is Rooseveldt who said something on the lines of "nothing succeeds like perseverance"? You certainly have it by the bucket load!
Great thread Jamie

Re: Back in beige
Leaky RH carb off today. Looks like fuel is oozing, very slowly, from just about everywhere.
I reckon my fuel pump is running at too high a pressure.
Research shows IDFs should be running 3psi, so I've ordered a new Facet 60104K fuel pump, and a Filter King swirl pot with pressure regulator.

Re: Back in beige
This is what I have, I used it once to check the fuel pressure on the 911.
What I don't have is the small mounting bracket but prehaps you could fabricate something ? If I remember it's a small right angle piece about 1" x 1" x 2" long.
For a £40 donation to Macmillan I'll stick it in the post to you.

Re: Back in beige
Ah - I've ordered a slightly different one (glass bowl, lower-scaled pressure gauge), but thanks nonetheless!

I have massively jumped-the-gun on putting the aeroplane in the garage. It's massive, and is making it extremely difficult to work on the car. What a cock.

Watch out for that delicate glass bowl mind.

Re: Back in beige
New Facet Posi-Flow fuel pump fitted. Leaky carb problem sorted. I imagine the old pump (solid-state Facet) was just pushing too hard.
I put the back wheels on the car, dropped it off its axle stands, and rolled it out of the garage. It's the first time I've seen the front of the car in ages. Even though it's still a headlamp-less bog-eyed freak, it does look pretty cool.
I am working up to fitting the headlamps. Going to go without ring seals for the time being, and just seal them in with some Sikaflex. Horrible, but a proper seal just isn't going to fit. Still massively knacked-off with Porsche for selling me two wings with incorrectly-fitted headlamp bowls. Excellence was expected, y'know?
But hey.
I've got another order on the go from Design911 - bits I'd forgotten I needed.
One of the things I can't find is the little drilled bolts that clamp the cables to the flapper boxes. Anyone have any ideas where I can get hold of those?
