Covin narrowbody backdate- Nein12

Re: Covin narrowbody backdate- Nein12
slight departure from the build plan....RSR YO!
Not for aesthetic qualities but purely due to build quality and practical purposes. In the pics you can see the rear light units are built into the wing, the bulb holders were merely pushed into holes, the light chamber dividers were shonky and i couldn't get the lens to seal good enough as genuine len seals won't fit. i could have bodged it but it would have niggled the hell out of me.
The whole "what to do about the rear lights" issue was becoming a ballache then i spotted these RSR GRP rear light panels on ebay cheap. I contacted the seller who confirmed the light recesses were 75mm diameter...BINGO. i'd already got a pair of new indicators (72mm diameter so just ordered a pair of stop/brake ones . Not the look i was after but a 'factory' resolution. the other option was to source some 911 rear light units and graft them into the body....a lot of work and overly expensive.
Looks OK on Magnus Walker's whip so figures it could work.

Starting to look like a car now. Long way to go I'm sure but it must feel better when it looks more than half finished! Good stuff
