Andy will be along shortly to unravel your numbers. You have collected some nice wheels.

Meantime, Andy could help me too. I have just today seen a pair of wheels advertised at a very reasonable price. They are Fuchs, they are dated 9/67, they are 6x15 and have the ink stamp part number 90136101205. Should I buy them?

Regards
Mike

Hi Serhad - there are plenty of other people on DDK that can answer your query but I'll start:

The 6in (ending in '00') wheels would have been fitted to late '72 911 models - std on S & E models & optional on T's.

The 8in wheels (ending in '02') are very early 8's available from the Factory's Race Dept (long before they became a 'production' part). These early wheels had the characteristic overstamped '2'.

Part no. ending in '11' is a mid '70's 7in which accepts the ring-type centre cap
Part no. ending in '12' is the 8in equivalent

Part nos ending in '41' & '42' are the final (& heavier) version of 7 & 8 x 15 wheels

- not seen a 15in Fuchs wheel ending in '32' ... can you post some pictures ?

Can't say without seeing pictures Mike but that discrepancy is not unique (as I'm sure you know ... )

Bonsoir Mike,

that part number is 03. the very rare 6R fuch wheel that was fitted up front on the 911R. Slightly lighter with several visual differences to late 6 wheels. The 05 number being the 7R.

Hi Dave

That's great info. I knew a clever guy like you would know the numbers but there seems to be a mix up which I was concerned about and you confirmed it, 3 goes with 6x15 and 5 goes with 7x15.

Merci beaucoup
Mike

Mike- my answer was assuming that they are/were 7R's - there are several known cases of early 7in wheels being mis-labelled as 6x15 in ...
