Hello to all ...

Post by proporsche »

Hello to all
Hm,where to start? My name is Ivan i am originally from Czech Republic but i used to live in California for 26 years. In famous LA LA land .I have been working on Porsche automobiles since early 1980`s later i have had my own shop specializing on 911`s on the west side of LA, Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey.

I have moved to south France in 2009, with my wife 4 cats 70 boxes and my red devil plus all the garage tools and spare parts i will ever need for the beast.
So i am retired Porsche 911 mechanic living in France.Since living in Europe we got more animals .5chickens 2 German Shephers and we added 4 Bengal cats. The wild boars out side i do not count. From left Pauline(chines chicken) Cleopatra- Norwegian Forrest Cat (from LA)German sh.Emma and Timmy& the Bengals(2)Marco&Donna.

I do occasionally help on local Porsche boys with theirs 911`s.
I have found this website thanx to a impact bumper forum

My 911 is 1985 euro model. It was purchased to Finland then arrived in California.I bought it in 1996 with 368 000 miles.Since then the beast has it 767 043 km.
Before shipping it back to Europe i have completely reseal the engine. To my surprise it still had the original factory main bearings..The piston and cylinders are original as well. I also did a valve job and completely redo the trany.Just the synchro rings and slides ,no bearings replaced.

So now i enjoy driving in Europe mainly in Germany`s autobahn when i go home to Czech.

Welcome!

368,000 miles in '96 was incredible and on the original engine, amazing!

700,000km now is simply phenomenal...

Welcome. At 760k you might have the DDK record for most kms? Certainly for original engine and internals?

Hi Neil
Yup all internal is original,as a mechanic i was amazed ....The engine feels strong and after updating with Steve W. chip even better fun driving on Germany`s autobahn`s;-)
i just did 3300 km and i had to add only 1 liter of oil ..happy with that as well...
But to be honest i miss my 1966 912 ..i had to sell before moving to Europa ..back home...continent..
