Re: Next Project
So whilst I've been pondering on how to arrange a seal to the screen post.
I've been busy with the sewing machine lol. Always wanted a full tonneau. So with the posts now removable thought it time to have one. So ordered some material and thread etc, bought a sewing machine of EBay and away we go.
Basic shape so far but getting there.

Re: Next Project
Yeah bring them round, also do turn ups and curtain alterations . Now be honest Olly, it's really your little pink one
Not liking the fastners, rather have them black to make it cleaner looking than in your face shinny. Does any one know how I can make the Tenax fastners black? Other than paint that will wear quickly. Wondered if they could be powder coated?

Re: Next Project
Looks like a great fit and finish. I guess worked out cheaper than buying one even with the cost of the pink sowing machine.
So that's the tank, windows and top done, what next?

Re: Next Project
Nothing wrong with a pink sewing machine if l ever had one Greg. I used this old boy, think it's a boy or is it a girl sewing machine?? How do you tell
And yes saved some £££'s and just as good.
Found a solution to the Tenax fasteners. Wanted them in black but cost a fortune. So came across this product called Plasti Dip. More of a rubber. If you prime the metal before plasti dip, it becomes permanent. Without primer its removable. Plus side it's also easier to lift the tenax to release, being rubber.
Next on the list is the heated screen, bought HG's chesil screen but it seems Chesil have changed the profile at some point. So the Gentleman he is he's had it back. So now without a screen as it's been left at the glass manufactures to get a profile confirmed.
Next is to enjoy it for the rest of the summer then finish the steering stalk/column. Also been looking at one of these for summer use.??

Re: Next Project
Have you asked Peter about that? I was contemplating putting an offer in on H-G's screen but if it isn't that simple.....mdmax72 wrote:Next on the list is the heated screen, bought HG's chesil screen but it seems Chesil have changed the profile at some point. Nothing wrong with bugs in ya teeth, all part of your 5 a day
Peter is on shutdown till Monday so will confirm when the change took place. Assume it's when he sold Chesil and purchased it back from Tygan. My screen was supplied by Chesil and HG also bought the heated screen from Chesil. If you look at your screen Simon, what's the logo in the bottom corner??shambly wrote:Have you asked Peter about that? Re: Next Project
After speaking to Chesil today, they have confirmed they have not changed the Windscreen profile or frame either before Tygan and after, although they have changed Windscreen suppliers. Also stated they sell windscreens to replace broken ones, without any problems.
