I could do with a daily driver through the winter whilst I'm putting mine back together

I'll throw in the patina free of charge
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

Eagerly opened a fat brown envelope from my OPC thinking it might be cash, but turned out to be even better...

Not so much that it was their first "classic" newsletter, more that it features a local legend and his perfect motor. Nice one Darren 8)

Thanks Nigel……...I'm becoming quite a pimp!

Wasn't sure what to expect when they asked if they could feature the car….overall I think they did a great job and good to see them engaging with their 'classic' customer base.

Mind you the car's lived quite a bit of life and not quite so shiny since those pictures were taken.

This has to be THE template for an early 911 restoration back to original....... The attention to detail... :notworthy:

Very nice of you to say so Adam although there are few things that aren't quite correct.....

....the underseal line on the sills should be higher, the underseal should also cover half the lip on wheel arches and the cars were never painted underneath, just left with a natural underseal finish. Probably also a little too much paint under the hood and inside mine although this will have varied from car to car, all LWB cars were left in body colour in these areas although it was just overspray rather than actual painting. Richard Murphy's and Richard Huckles cars are better reference sources on paint. The oil tank is also incorrect on mine and should have a spacer in between the filter and the tank....etc.etc...

No doubt lots more that's also incorrect if you consult the real anoraks.....I think the point I'm making is that you have to be very carefull when following any restored car or from taking advice from forums. Original cars and period photos are always your best reference points.

Ultimately if it's going to be a driver and your pretty close then that's good enough for me.....I'm sure yours is going to be a real stunner! 8)
