Have you looked at the old ( 50's) vw beetles in 'standard' spec ? Base colours ( incl grey) , no trim, basic cloth seats , no bright work , no extras etc . They have very different look to the 'delux' ones

I have VERY good experience with something called

Brunox Epoxy Rust Converter

its purple stuff, you paint it on, leave it for a day and then you wash it of with... water !

leaves it bare metal and afterwards you paint it with normal epoxy primer

that way you can get under the dash etc

It works , trust me , try to google it

A build like this should reflect your personality and I'm not sure you're a Beige man

For example - my car is very confused about it's indentity. Constantly experiments with fashion and colours with some clangers along the way. Not really sure of it's age and how to act. Can be erratic and yet sometimes very sensible but deep down is a lot of fun.

Plain white according to Mick on the other thread. I thought it was white when I saw it in Kendal but my memory is not so vivid and it was snowing.

It was painted light ivory (supposedly) in Wales after I bought it off Andy, but a mis-match on the rear left corner warranted the disguise using the green BP colour scheme.
PS factored the sale for me and the buyer wanted the decals removed, thus leaving plain.
