Ready and Running

Post by pauladev »

I bought my 914/6 on May 7th. It had been stood under piles of plastic sheeting and boxes for about 24 years of it's life, but had had mechanical and some engine work done in the last 5 years, but again stood from 2003.
My good friend Simon took on the challenge to get it ready for the 914 International by 12th June, when I would be back in UK. What a great job he did!!!

The shake down run to Essen and then on to the Algarve produced only a few electrical and wheel bearing problems, but I expected worse from a car stood for so long.
A fantastic job, by Simon, and a very happy owner!

I'm amazed to think when I see it now that I rejected this car 2 years ago - great car in a great colour Paul. Perhaps we should keep quiet about the five 914s being repaired at the same time near Essen - eh?
