My number plates arrived! I love these. Saw them on a nice Meissen Blue cabriolet that was for sale at Hedingham 2012. Had to have me some!

A very exciting day today. My first bit of car time in my new man cave. I bought a damp smelly old workshop just after Christmas. I kid you not - it was used as a colostomy bag factory. Four months of building work, new windows, roof repairs, insulation, removing all the plaster, replastering (except the great old-stock-brick wall), new steels ...and a shower, and the cars are in. Now we've restored the building, it's time to finish the B. So, there i was, music on, old clothes on, toolbox open; lifted the lid on the first box of parts and I suddenly remembered quite how many little bits of rubber, thousands of screws, unidentified chrome bits and so on that there are. Big laying out and labeling exercise first. Great few hours of buffing though. Some pics:

Cheers guys. To be honest, it's a bit of a dream come true. Always loved the idea of my own space with a few cars in it. Had an unshiftable grin on as I hummed my way through the afternoon.

Looks amazing! A rare color indeed and even better in person.
Some fresh rubber and chrome and you'll be driving before you know it.
When in doubt, use Bondo!

Cheers chaps. Thanks for all the supplies Rusty Ric. Looking forward to the weekend!

Hey, does anyone have any nice pics of red leather interiors with leather colour codes? I'm having trouble choosing.

Can anyone recommend the best place to pick up a wiring loom for my B? Any advice and guispdance if there are options is most welcome. Car will be 12v - not sure if anyone tailor makes looms accordingly? Right hand drive. Thanks.

I got mine here....took some time to get him to post it, but very good quality, all the right connectors and the £ is very strong against the euro currently, so great value

1960 T5B resto thread

Post by Phil Parry »

I'm hoping some of you guys might know which parts on the 356 are plated in mazak.

I know the B bonnet handle is mazak, but not sure about door handles, overriders, rear quarter latches, etc. Can anyone advise?

Also, one of my latches is broken as you can see in the photo. Does anyone have experience of sticking such parts together (pre plating?) and what adhesive might do the job?
