The KMI pump is now available with the 180 degree union.

Steven has advised that the flow pipe from the tank goes to the flexi pipe spigot, the pipe going to the engine driven pump goes to the spigot on the electrical end of pump and the return to tank pipe is blanked off.
The pump flows 2.5ltrs/min at 1 bar. 3.00 amps.

He has quoted £125.00 each+carriage+VAT if we buy 10 or more which is £30 off the first quote.

I did contact Glencoe about their pump which was mentioned in the thread and the guy there pointed me in the direction of KMI for bulk purchases, as they are one of their dealers.

I am going to have one of the KMI pumps and if enough people commit to buy one so we reach 10, I'll work out the admin with Steven at KMI.

Thanks.

Kieron.

Tank return blanked off? Is that wise?
I thought MFI pumps ran at much higher pressure then 1 bar

You are correct, there is a return from the MFI pump back to the tank. It is the old T piece bypass connection for the original Bosch pump that needs either blanking off or removing completely.

The spec supply pressure for the MFI pump is 12.5 PSI which is controlled at the fuel console by a restrictor in the return line.. The injector pressure of around 225 PSI is generated inside the MFI pump. The reason that the flow rate is important is because the fuel cools the mechanical pump.

Cheers

Is anyone else interested in one of these? So far we looking to buy 5. If there's no more interest I'll speak with KMI to get the best price for this number.

Thanks.

My 1973 911 2.4T Targa has Zenith carbs. which pump would be suitable? I could do with a spare.

nj1052 wrote:I have one of these on my 2.2S and it works fine. It meets the specs for the original Bosch unit in terms of flow rate (VIP for MFI) and as the MFI supply is fixed at circa 12.5 psi its 1 bar rating is fine too.

It is also around 1/4 the price of a Bosche unit.

Cheers
I needed a new pump a few years ago before they started to remanufacture the Bosch, i found a well known German parts supplier wanted 1000 euro for a NOS pump or 700 for a 'repaired' one, Chris Turner fitted a Sytec racing pump , it works but as it is the only non-Porsche part on the car (RHD 2.2S 9111300140) I worry about affecting value.
