Thanks! Well, as the body basically is an empty shell over a full rollcage, I decided to make as much as possible of the interior body details in steel and as a permanent part of the chassis. Then just mount the body over it all.

No big update but nevertheless an important one...

Got the uppermounts for the rear shocks fixed in correct position and angle by the help of the jig I made.
Previous owners had removed the complete towers including upper shockmounts due to big loweringplans.
The IRS trailingarms would have hit the towers....

Here fixed with the jig.

And here with jig removed and the mount fixed with spotwelds. Will be fully welded and get added support when I get all details prewelded and will lift the body off so I can fully weld all details without risk to burn the body... :)

Started disassembling the enginelid grill that came with the project as it turned out to be a Speedster original that is curved compared to coupes that are flat...

Image

Decided to straighten it out with my stretcher..

Meanwhile I also was working with making a more or less unique grillbadge. Joined a fresh group at Facebook called Wide 5 Outcasts which was founded late last year. The logo they had was in my opinion very good looking so I thought I'd give it a try until they decide to make it for all users....

Here after etching the brassplate:

One colour applied

Wetsanding.

Finished logo. Still need to cut the edges round.

Here's the modified grill finally polished and assembled including the almost finished badge...

No idea yet if they start making them. If enough are interested I'm sure they will check for production and pricing.

Yes, mine is not finished in the picture above. Will be rounded out today... :)

Now the badge is finished. Better? ;)

Wetsanded the surface with 3000 grit and will probably also clearcoat it to avoid oxidation...

Well, I'm the 'designer' of that logo and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out to be

It started out -however- as Porsche Outcasts, but because Porsche made a big fuzz about using the brand name it was changed in Wide 5 Outcasts...

This was originally my avatar:

I had a little disagreement/quarrel with one of the other guys that is active on the Wide 5 Outcasts group, so he put me on a blacklist and I couldn't use the forum or facebook group anymore. I'm a bit of a free thinker (perhaps I'm a bit of a real outlaw or rebel) and now, because I'm being rejected from the forum and facebook group I'm might be the only real Outcast...

The Porsche Outcast website is still there: Porsche hasn't stepped in yet!

Awesome design. Curious forum - there are more rules than posts.
