I'd need to buy a new one.

So, that's me down about another £300 and Porsche richer by the same amount.

The trombone cooler was fine.
We'd need to replace both of the thermostat to tank/engine pipes but those were cheap enough.
However one of the long pipes (the intake tube) had been bodged and needed replacing.

The pipe had obviously suffered some damage (it's in the area of the jacking point) and someone had effected a cheap repair.
Nick thought it was a poor solution but I have to say I admire their ingenuity.
The crushed section has been cut out and replaced with household plumbing copper pipe.
They've then soldered the patch section back in.

Ah, the good old 'make do & mend'....

You might be digging yourself a hole there, it's still gonna be bright... & beautiful. But nothing that gifting Mrs FM some cool sunglasses can't fix. Paint looks great Paul, well done Nick & boys.

No, better not.

I thought I'd ask the question on this thread as the IB RS Carrera gurus are hopefully gonna read this.
Hope you don't mind Paul.

When did the typical rear RS flares change to another type on the IB 2.7 RS?
Or did they remain till the end of production in 1976 unchanged on that model?
