In this photo the rear arch, shows quite clearly, the difference between the RS and SC profile.

I think you underestimate the work involved in delivering all the parts to Nick.
It takes a particular skill....

Now the shell is inching toward completion I thought it wise to keep Early911 fed with components.
If you dismantle a 911 it's amazing just how much space everything takes up.
Nick called a halt before long and declined to accept more until needed. The complete interior still resides with me. Along with engine & gearbox, etc.
If you are going to strip to a bare shell make sure you've got plenty of space...

Nick is going through the whole undercarriage restoring as he goes.
I sent down new bearings (front & rear), new ball joints, new track rod ends, etc, etc,etc, etc...

Sometimes things that are expensive are not heavy.
Like rubber seals from Porsche.

This little box of goodies weighs very little but there’s several thousand pounds (of Sterling) pictured here.

One point laboured to me was to “only buy genuine Porsche seals”.
Many people recommended that I must buy my rubberware from Porsche.
I’ve heard tales of cheap, pattern parts that just don’t fit, seals that don’t seal, bellows that can’t be assembled.
Any savings on the purchase price are quickly negated by the extra labour in trying to make them fit.
So, all this essential gear was sourced from my local OPC.

Within that box are sealing strips, trim seals, rear screen seal, bumper seals, bonnet seal, window frame seals, door seals, front windscreen seal, drop glass seals, engine compartment seals, rear valance seal, rubber sill seals, and many more seals.

The car is going to be well sealed.
I may have to wind the window down just to be able to breathe.

Some parts were familiar, I won't bother explaining where this fits, you can work it out yourself.

Some of the rubber parts were less familiar (at least here on DDK).
The bumper bellows are generally beyond repair, the bolts endure a hard life – exposed as they are in the wheel arch – and they usually break when you try to remove them.
I purchased a new set.
