RHD production numbers ?
Porsche club GB recent article reported the following UK import data on SWB
1965 imports - 14 cars
1966 imports - 33 cars
1967 imports - 72 cars
1968 imports - 146 cars
total uk imports 265 cars
of the UK imports in 1968, 33/146 were 'S' , 2/146 were slate grey, 3/146 shipped with red interior.
I assume the UK was not the only RHD destination, does anyone know the full production run for RHD?

away from the bodywork the calipers were sent for restoratio
So I lugged 4 callipers to the US as hand luggage, I have to say the i didn't appreciate the long wait as passport control.. In 1968 the front callipers were M castings in Steel, and Wide L on the rear.
The rears were in bad condition externally, but pistons came out ok.. corrosion was meant that the rare fasteners could not be salvaged, I asked that we try to restore them if they would be operationally upto the task, these were the worst callipers the specialist has ever seen.

callipers
So 45 years of english climate has not been kind to these units, restoration of my callipers worked around other jobs as it was not clear we would be able to get them apart, but after much soaking they did come apart, I was at this point considering if I should simply buy alternative 'correct' callipers and if the expense here was going to justify the outcome, but they did come apart, so we sent them off for coating..
...and whist pitted they have cleaned and the bores were good.

1968 911 Callipers
And to the finished product, I am happy that we have managed to breathe like back into the original callipers, especially as these are parts that are specific to the model year.
