I had the brakes fully refurbished by Classicar Automotive.

I've also been collecting other parts to overhaul the complete braking system.

Well, that's spooky. I've been thinking the same myself.
I've bookmarked a seller on eBay that does the good old fashioned 'Hills' plates with digits riveted on (see pic below).
I might have to re-visit the number plates....

I don't think those are aluminium Ian.

I think its possibly because they had to blast them so much to clean them up, the matt surface is not as reflective as the original finish....?

While work continued on the shell, Nick was able to work on some of the smaller parts.
Like the handbrake assembly...

It was complete and original but looking rather tired:

So it was dismantled, ready for refurbishment.

Then liberally coated with magic dust, left overnight for maximum effect, and in the morning the parts were transformed:

Eh, voila!
Don't it look lovely now?
