Hello Ian,

Thanks - I saw it too. :)

Paul said it was attracting a lot of attention. Chrome was certainly bright in the sunshine. 8)

Yup, that was mine when it was blue.

Can't see why it's worth that much I must admit and I still have a few of the original bits for it too!! non matching numbers and all that!

There again I wish I'd kept it. Brilliant car, used to drive it well over 100 miles every day to work and back.

Anyone want to swap a 912 for a 356 ?

I was talking to Paul about the market in general last weekend at SIlverstone and he mentioned this car. It's on SOR, the owner is determined to get the price and Paul wasn't sure whether he wanted to advertise it at that much or not as he knew it looked strong.

However, having looked at the ivory car that made £23k at auction, the green car for sale on here and various others he thinks that to the right person who

a. Has £40k to spend and
b. Understands detail and quality

it ought to be worth £15k more.

I've not seen it, but Paul isn't often wrong.

I was going to ask as a new thread

Why suddenly are 912's £40k??????

Don't get me wrong they were always going to have their time but that's about a rise of £15k in 12 months.
I have not seen one sell yet. I have seen all but 2 of these £40k cars and I am still asking the same question.

All I know is Gavins car is priced bang on the money and is a totaly sorted car at every level. Not just because I know Gavin but I know what work has gone into the car and the people who did the work. At these prices your starting to see 356's cheaper!!!!!!!! I personaly see a well sorted 912 at sub £30k max. If there is this £40k market then surely it's a wise move to buy Gavins and sell it at £40k make a lot of money and put your feet up for the rest of the year!

Just as I see it. I know I have been out the loop for a while.

That's the point in a nutshell - £40k is being asked, but hasn't been achieved yet. Time will tell if that black car is the one that will do it.

Apparently not.

PS specifically explored this option and doesn't think that car would make any more than is currently being asked as a retail car.

And this
that's about a rise of £15k in 12 months
is happening everywhere with 911s, so why not 912s?

I'm putting my 914 on the market for £25k next week, just in case. ;)

As in Gavin's car at its max price do you mean?

With its Andy Prill rebuilt engine and gearbox? Paint, seats, bushes the lot all done. Really!!!

I know where my money would go. Green over Black all day long.
