To make it perfect Wurth plastic dye will get that airbox and the trumpets up a treat. It's £25-odd a tube but leaves a lovely matt, factory-esque finish.

So, you get a pack for your money that makes a tube of toothpaste look big.
But you do get a free sponge. Which is useful at bath times after you've finished your engine.

Prep the plastic with the rough side of the sponge and apply the dye using the smooth side of the dampened sponge.

All in all, an excellent product. It really does improve things.
I think I'll do rather more prep before applying another coat (maybe even a light going over with a very fine wet&dry) but it 'feeds' the colour back into the plastic.
Recommended by me too.

If only I'd known this car dealers trick for restoring engines I could have saved spending so much with Redtek.

I'm pleased you're pleased. Another coat should see it even better.

It also works brilliantly on the bumper rubbers and gives the mattness back to shiny dash tops, Targa tops, door pockets - basically anything plastic or vinyl and black.

I understand Bootsy even uses it on his grey chest hair.

£35 is a ruddy fortune though.
