Hy guys thanks so much for all your wonderful comments, I know it's been a long haul and I'm sure most must be bored rigid
with the slow progress, but thanks so much for sticking with the thread and being so supportive, couldn't have done it without
the DDK!

More's to the point couldn't have done it without Neil Bainbridge and BS Motorsport of course, and this coming week as the car
finally leaves the painters and returns to Neils for the final fitting up the pressures on to get it ready for the Techno Classica
Essen show where it's due to appear.

It gives us 6 weeks and I'll be full time on it so hopefully should be able to get it ready. I think just to exhibit it not all has to be
sorted and working, the final shake down and actual testing can happen after Essen so that's it's all ready for the Targa Florio
Classic in October.
cheers, Mike.

Glad you liked the latest pictures, obviously documenting the build with a photographic record has been important, not only to
show the car but to show the craftsmanship of all the experts who have worked so hard on it, Neil of course for the engineering,
Bruce at Sportwagen for the metalwork and base paint, and Jason and Lee at Unit 24 for artwork paint and final finish.

As for a poster then let's wait until the final shoot, Jamie...... and see what we have after everything's done, in the meantime
here's an upright version of the overhead shot...........

and then the last full on front view with the latest additions, before it goes in the car.

cheers, Mike.

This really is the ultimate, would love to see the build detailed in a book. The photos alone are something else :)

Most definitely worthy! :notworthy:

Agree, and as a picture speaks a 1000 words, the book will be easy to put together for the launch by Mike! :)

My new project.........

Post by Bertroex »

Mike, my english vocab is not exhaustive enough to describe the accolades that you deserve for this project. Its plain Fantastic. Btw: Helen deserves a price as she must be a saint;) !

Now that all the sloppiness is over: you're a crazy so and so and I want to sit by the wayside in Sicily seeing it collect stone chips, flies hitting the bodywork at 120 mph and getting brake dust on those Fuchs. Patina is for men; showroom stuff is for Germans, no?

Is your entry confirmed? Any historic drivers having a go?

Cheers,

Bert

Hi Bert, very kind words indeed and you've hit the nail on the head, Helen's the star here. She's been incredibly
supportive since day one, I'm a lucky guy! As for the Targa entry we'll have to see, they won't confirm until May.

Don't know what Porsche are doing at Essen this year, but I'm sure it will be special given the 50 year anniversary.
Should be close by though, the car's confirmed in Hall 3, the main hall for Porsche's :bounce:
cheers, Mike.

I suspect that, like last year, Porsche will be majoring on the Retro Classics show at Stuttgart – that's the only show they've mentioned specifically in a press mailing to me. But that;'s not to say they won't push the boat out at Essen, too.

Look forward to seeing the 'Star Car of Hall 3'! 8)

A very exciting time, Mike, no doubt about that.

Had breakfast with some people Saturday morning and we were wondering what would happen if a rich, German industrialist type were to make you a healthy offer at Essen? Would you let it go? Does another project beckon? We're intrigued!!

Fabulous work and some great pics Mike - I am a sucker for a full frontal shot :)

Are there any plans for a UK meet / unveiling? Would love to have a look at it and a good excuse to meet some of the ddk folk. Count me in if there is ...... I would rather see this than the Singer they launched last week!

Great thread.

Hi Steve, I thought my ears were burning on Saturday morning! As for what happens over the new few months we'll have to wait and see,
but I have been looking for what next when this one's finished.

I even made the mistake of contacting PCGB for help on a particular model and it all went horribly wrong, but what happened there might
be for a new thread another day.

Now all the paintwork is finished we're now doing the final assembly. There's great little pieces of detail in the paint in so many
places, but this is one of my favorites.
