Its finally time to bolt my new engine in the car, having fitted a kafer brace, HD cradle, HD rubber rear mounts, rear wide-5 disc brakes, new fuel lines, breather, added tons of wiring for the instrumentation, ...

So by Sunday night, this:

Car won't be ready for Volksworld though

There's actually more space around the engine than it looks from those angles. Here's a straight ahead photo without the (Chesil) secondary sealing tin around the engine.

The problem is one of height - i'm going to have to fettle the inner skin of the engine lid and possibly the right hinge to be able to close it as it just catches the air hose to the oil cooler at present. I guess the DTM shroud is just a little higher than the standard shroud.

The dizzy is a mallory unilite which will be hooked up to a hyfire VI CDi box (same setup I had on my Type I).

Carbs are 44 IDFs - currently off to fit a vacuum port to the manifolds to power my servo - and there is plenty of room for them & the air filters to fit.

Yes its a Raby special. A 2270cc 'C' spec unit, good for 146 bhp with bags and bags of torque.

An Ahnendorp T4 into T1 system. The 21152E header and their dual muffler. Planning to get a custom tailpipe made to have a centre exiting oval exhaust tip rather than the standard tip shown below.
