Any 914 owners near Leeds?

Post by johnfm »

Thinking about a 914 purchase - but never had the chance to closely inspect, hear, drive in one etc.

Any owners near Leeds fancy introducing me to 914 ownership?

I live in Leeds and have one - its in bits but you are more than welcome to come and have a look - when a car is stripped its good to look at it to get to know the the bits that need close inspection as you often can't see them particularly well when the car is put together.

Thanks for the responses chaps.

I may combine a trip to Formby when the weather improves with a drop in at Wigan.

I'm not far from you - Chapel Allerton.

Stuj76's car is beautiful - it was seeing his car that inspired me to get one - though mine isn't a patch on his!!! Worth seeing both if you can though as mine is currently fairly standard and Stu's is heavily modified.

Formby beach....Nice....How about a purchase of a nice 1982 Golf Cabby for the trip?

If near Wigan, 2 cars are VERY straight examples of a 1973 2.0 and a 1.7 One Euro spec and one US spec....You can see them side by side....There is also a fantastic concours level UK spec (Ireland) 2.0, although the front has had a little run in with a lampost.....So 3 in the same place.. to compare...

PM me and we can sort something. I'm at Tatton Park Classic Car Show, Cheshire on Monday in my 914....

Only just found this thread it has been some time since I have been on DDK, and it has been longer still since my car has been on the road.

If you are still looking, want to have a look let me know, but the car is still off the road and engine-less at the moment.
