Type IV 914 gear linkage for spyder

Lately I've seen quite a few changer mechanisms (i.e. linkage by rod, cable etc, ) for this 5-speed SIDESHIFTER system which is being used in my spyder. They all differ in some small way. Has any owner mastered the situation? It's a good strong box, but was always considered the weakest link in the 914... A sketch drawing, photos or a specification that works for YOU would be most helpful to me. We're willing and able to adapt... Thanks. - David
