Anyway, I bought some in 15mm width to test its suitability.
There has to be a comment here... Where are Cubist and Bootsy when you need them?

Looking great Andy, it's a really good time in the project when it starts all coming together!

Tell me about your twin arm single blade wiper, is it something Martin has had re-manufactured
or have you had to put it together yourself?
cheers, Mike.

Mike - the 'pantograph' double wiper arm set up is something Barrie sourced (I think it's an 'off the shelf' truck item) which is very similar to the original 904 set up.

A few more parts from my 'wanted' list have been sourced:

- a good set of used harness eye bolts (donated by good friend Bob Tilton)

Image

- an excellent pair of period-correct Marchal Equilux headlamps

Image

- & a pair of 24" megaphones with 'cookie cutter' inserts

I'm still searching for that elusive second rear reflector though ...

Looks gorgeous Andy. I notice you're shielding us all from the shame of those reflectors though. Such a pity - it looked like it was going to be a nice car - seems a shame to ruin it

That last picture is just a thing of beauty Andy. Automotive sculpture. Sublime.

Just a very minor update but, for me, a significant one ...

- after over 12 months of searching involving hundreds of hours of scouring the internet, I finally managed to find a pair of original NOS rear reflectors in Germany !

This wasn't something that was holding the project up in any way but it had become a bit of an obsession I'm embarassed to say - especially since nobody else was likely to have noticed.

Anyway, here they are - I'm still not 100% certain what vehicle they were fitted to back in the early '60's but it certainly wasn't something particularly common!

Funnily enough the one I had found ~ 6 months ago, although very, very similar, wasn't in fact 100% correct - those above are identical to the ones originally fitted to 904's.

I'm glad to have finally located these - it was something that had really been bugging me ...

Wow - nice reflectors. I like a good NOS lens / reflector....really sets the car off. 12 months searching - you're a premier league hunter-gatherer.... :-)

Congrats on the score.
