i have a battery cut-off which is quite neat; its like a solid battery link/terminal which you screw a bolt into. its a left-hand thread so not easy to get around for your average crim.. it has a thin bypass wire which allows current to go to the radio and things for the memory function, but can not carry enough current to start the car and just burns the wire out if you try. dead easy to replace if you do burn it out, but still doesnt help with starting it unless you have the "key"..

i also have a lifeline steering wheel boss; its more so my fat a#*e fits in between the steering column and the seat, but having no steering wheel would probably make it quite hard to drive away (unless theives carry a big set of mole grips these days )

Mine have no wheels and no batterys at present.

How difficult is it to fit?

I just fitted it and it's great.
Simply unscrew it and the car cannot be started.
I didn't bother with the side fuse for the other car electrics since didn't want the battery to run down.
Quite a tight squeeze since I believe my car might have an oversized battery.
Took literally 10mins to fit.

Just bought 2. Since I always disconnect the battery it should make it simplier. However, my first 912 was stolen without a battery! I've taken it out to recharge it. I'm pretty sure that if they want your car they will get it.

Does it make any difference if I fit to the positve or negative batteries wires?

shouldn't however i fitted to pos on my car as easier to get at. might effect the "earth quality" if put on the neg cable? guess that would only really effect super sensitive stuff like ECU's and things though?..

I put it on the negative since thats what the instructions said. Can't see how it makes a difference. Yes it was more difficult to get at however that makes it less visible.

However, you can have it for free if you give me a lesson in something simple like changing the filters, changing the oil or adjusting the points!
