Ok - Here she is - put back together and ready for delivery...



However I remebered an issue about the dash facia. The old dash was damaged and a previous owner had glued a part to the facia which took off paint on removal. I forgot all about it, but Porsche mentioned it and we have agred that they should re-paint the dash facia while they have the car.

No one need point out that I should have had it done first thank you!

Olive Green. On the basis that "it's the least appealing colour to consumers"

Surely that can't be true! They clearly didn't poll anyone on here

Sorry for the delayed reply - I've been away.

I too read that research. What they left out was the data about how cigarette packets in Silver Metallic resulted in non-smokers, nuns and babies taking up smoking within the hour.

Progress is being held up by headlining logistics. I was going to trailer the car to Alan at Canford Classics but Olympics/holidays/time/trailers etc means I will now get someone to come to mine to help fit it. The person I have in mind is ex-Autofarm so will help with a few electrical and re-fit gremlins as well. Once the headlining is in I can get all the glass in and she's ready to drive.

All being well I should be ready by the start of the (official) rainy season.

Unfortunately a house move has meant the car has been under a cover for 3 months in the garage and I haven't seen her due to decorating duties. I did roll the cover back last night to check the paint was still stuck to the metal - and it looks great. You've prompted me to check properly though. I'll roll her out into the daylight (when we get some) and provide a new photo.

Yes - he's a Group Operations Manager.

I was buying some parts from Porsche Reading and mentioned I was thinking of a re-spray - I was put in touch with Andy and the rest is history.

I'm a big supporter and user of independents for parts and services, but my renovation has taught me that Oficial Main Dealers aren't always the most expensive, they are often interested in classics and the quality of their work is excellent. BTW - I have no connections at all with Porsche Dealers etc - I just had a good experince with them on the renovation.

Thanks also to Nick Moss for bushes, Tony Wright of Wrighttune for labour, Roger Bray for other parts, Carpoint.de for the dashboard and Gary Cook (ex of Autofarm) who travelled to my house to fit headlining and do some other jobs.
