I just had some H4's arrive today,
I am gonna try and fit them later, will let you know how it goes
Head light upgrade
Moderators: drummerboytom, MdR
Well all done fitted them yesterday aftrnoon, took 15 mins
I had to put a bit of foam tape in the ring that clamps the headlamp to the mount, as the new lamps were a bit thinner so wouldn't clamp up,
but took the car out last night and a dramatic improvement over the sealed units, even in all the rain
they look a bit more modern but you can only see them with the lights on, Im all for originality but i think with lights and tyres it makes sense to upgrade.
here are some pic's

Anyone tried with Golf units?? .....And cut off the offending lugs? It's just that I have a spare set of Hella ones....MikeH wrote:I'd heard that Mk1 golf ones had been used by other folks, but I've offered some up (proper Hella ones) and they need a bit of modification to fit. I think they'd fit if I cut the metal locating lugs off the back, but I need to look a bit closer and check a couple of things, to make sure I don't trash a set of lights in the process.
I haven't decided whether to do that, or go for a mini type conversion kit instead.

Mark1 again I think, but I believe the units are the same on the old LT VW vans.
