Thanks, chaps.

Done my share of camping when my son was into slalom kayak competing. Like the whole pitching the tent, BBQ, beers, fresh air bit. But I need to find a way of fast forwarding between bedtime and waking up - I cannot sleep in a sodding tent.

A Daymon Daybreak has far more appeal.

10 pints of beer is the vital ingredient you're missing. :sleepy2:
Glad to be of assistance.

Right, I should have got in on this thread ages ago but other things like work, family, race car, Okrasa Special, etc, etc got in the way. All booked with 1st Tickets for me and nine mates and five cars: the 356, VW tow bus, another camper, a 911 race car and a GT3, so it will be an interesting drive from Calais doing 60mph in the bus pegging the fast stuff back! The contingent includes Nick Fulljames and Ian Clark so there shouldn't be a problem these two can't fix! REALLY looking forward to doing this event again although I'm not sure there is any point doing the circuit in a '66 Westfalia  Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Cheers, Steve

There was a classic VW camper on the parade laps in 2010, not sure if it was a Westfalia though!

anglophone1 wrote:Hi all
Don't know how many of you will remember me from 2010?
Was with my 2 sons and didn't socialise much, always difficult with kids!
We camped with DDK at Karting du Nord with my 95 VW Dehler camper and White/green 1974 2.7 carrera which was driven up for us by a friend camping offsite.
This year looks like no kids and as yet no driver for Porsche so will be me and camper ,pitch already sorted by Brian.
The upside is that I'll be able to concentrtate on four days of documenting the European classic Porsche culture (inspired by Bob Tiltons werkcrew book) to compliment the work I've been doing on this in southern France for the last year or so-I'm a photographer.
So will be grateful for any help , who better to star in this than DDK?
Is always poss that may still have friend bringing 911 up so will be able to do track laps, go to dinner in Arnage, go out to Arnage corner at midnight etc., otherwise will need lifts from some obliging DDK er.
In return, I'm a Porsche club France member so should easily access tracklaps, paddock access etc. once their site opens on April 1st.
Look forward to meeting many more of you this year!
Definitely no Porsche , me camper and [maybe] son as asssistant [ i maybe shooting a 5x4 film camera] so although I will have bicycle I'll be really grateful for nightime lifts to Arnage corner or into Arnage for moules frites at l'entracte...........

Half the camp site to ourselves! At what point do we qualify for a DDK only toilet block...?

We have had the option of Ddk only facilities, but based at a campsite which isn't track side .... Maybe in the future ?

Maybe, but I do like wandering to the track first thing in the morning, and you can't beat having the noise of a 917 wake you one hour after getting to sleep :)
