Re: 75 S to R Homage
Didn't Mark Waring make some 'glass bowls for the spots (the nice ones with flats on for mounting types)?

Re: 75 S to R Homage
Mark was/is a very prominent player in the early 90's with early 911's.
He did a lot for the early cars then and moved to consultancy in helping people 'connect' to RS's etc around the world.
We all had a gathering at Brooklands in 1990 of about 20+ pre 73's, first time ever I think.
I last saw Mark at the Husband Crawley Autojumble about 3 years ago with repro RS seats, fog lamp assemblies and such like, very much alive and kicking.
He ran World Wide Classics as a business. Try there for starters.
Everything he does is top quality and accurate. I think he had Salt-n-Pepper carpet remade years ago for early cars.

Re: 75 S to R Homage
Worldwide Classics is now Rennsport Classics, advertising nothing more than seats. I'm sure, though, that Mark is still involved.911hillclimber wrote:Mark was/is a very prominent player in the early 90's with early 911's.

Re: 75 S to R Homage
Spoke with Mark and he is looking to see if any moulded shells are still available. I'm going to look at using rally pod mount lamps , with direction adjusters, in a grp shell..but as a backburner project
My wiring has been a partial success I have a small issue with backfeed to solve and can't make the indicators or hazards work . A day today back on mechanics building six heads...

Re: 75 S to R Homage
Back feed sorted ...I forgot about the links behind the fuse panels
Everything now works so I loomed most of it today and took advantage of some sun to finish the livery. Heads built ( not for me but contributing).
Just got to solve a few issues with pedal box connection and then start building the motor. Now fixed on 2.8 all the mods with a light flywheel & clutch, webers. S cams. 10.5 to 1 . twin plug. CDI times 2. home brewed dizzy headers and megaphones etc.
Snaps to show my take on relays etc and a few entirely gratutitous.

heres a funny some odd sized valve spring shims perfectly serviceable but where from. The bore is bigger but the od the same as original.

PS worked out how to do Pallas reps using a 7 inch bowl in my own moulded shell and a proprietary lamp reflector and rim to give adjustable aim like a real one. Of course these would be looky likey but I could live with it. For now a peroject for another day though

Some of the spring shims on my 3.2 were like that too!
Nice attention to detail as always.

Your car (& Chris Jury's) are my favourite DDK members' cars - brimming with novel/unique/home-bred ideas - truly wonderful !
