Hi All
Who says they were actually after the 356 coupe at all maybe it was the easiest to take, Mr Mallet from memory owns a Gullwing, a Speedster and a Cord and those are the ones that I have seen featured , that said it may have been nicked by the worlds stupidist joyriders if it was left outside and may turn up out in the sticks somewhere , I know to Porsche people its of interest but it does seem an odd choice for the return against the risk and aggro involved, are cars ever stolen and held to ransom??

No chance of "joy"riding in that car. It was horrible to drive... Seriously, without going into details, this was the car that was most accessible, and probably the easiest to 'dispose' of.

Anyway, can I ask that we no longer demand more details of the set-up at Del's, the details of his other cars etc etc. Let's keep it to possible sightings of the 356 or parts thereof. Cheers.

How about this! Delwyn has just called – the Police have found the car!!!! It was reported by a 'member of the public' as sitting in the corner of a quiet car park on an estate a few miles away, covered over. The cover had blown off it, so the person called the Police to say that there was this car just sitting there. We think whoever stole it, tucked away to keep watch to see if there was a tracker fitted... No more details yet – Del can't get the car back until the SOCO has done his stuff, but he wants to thank everyone for their concern, help and words of consolation.

What a great end to a horrible tale. Drinks all round tonight, then!   everyone

And b r e a t h e . . .

What a relief. After Mike's car I thought this would suffer a similar fate.

Made my day. Fantastic to have a happy ending. Let's see if boys in blue can feel somebody's collar over it.

Not sure if it's just my age but I was getting really wound up today with far too many trivial things... but now it's all fluffy bunnies, playful kittens, paper hats and bouncy castles! I do enjoy a bit of good news... well done estate-dwelling vigilant member of the British public :cyclopsani:

Brilliant news! It may just be a coincidence, but the sun's just come out here too... :)

Fingers crossed the SOCOs find something with which to nail the thieving....
