Agreed, it looks it was imported on the 7th of jan and sold to Paddy on the 15th. So it must have been bought purely as a way to transfer "cash". Perhaps he paid direct but then got it shipped to pcgb and sold to the next owner directly without leaving a paper trail.
Regarding Patrick McNally & people's surprise/disappointment that he wasn't more forthcoming with old pictures, anecdotes, etc ... you have to realise that he owned/drove a lot of cars back in the late '60's &, unless he achieved significant victories in a particular car, I doubt that they were remembered for long.

And this car was never a race car in his hands.
How am I not surprised you got the Siffert connection Andy. You are the man! I salute your knowledge.

Also, have you been in touch with Ginger Giddins, the mechanic at AFN around the time the car came to the UK?

Any contacts gratefully received.
Furthermore I am sorry this thread has coincided with the far more important 356 loss of your friend.
I am truly sorry to hear the news and for pushing on with this thread at the same time. I hope there is a good outcome.

I certainly wasn't disappointed with Paddy's reply. He was very kind to reply to the first letter and even returned the pictures I had enclosed, which I resent with the second letter. It was even nicer that he replied at all to the second one and as Andy say this man would have owned/driven lots of cars.
Also Robs Lamplough was a well-known driver in that era ('60's) & I think he's still racing today - I saw him racing many times back in the '70's/'80's in a whole range of (expensive) sports racing cars.
