One thing that confuses me is that by the time Paddy came to buy the car he could of bourght a production RHD, if he was so keen to have the first car off the production line then why get Porsche to rip out half the floor bulkhead luggage floor and dash to make it RHD, seems a little odd.

I'm glad to here this and this is part of the plan. I realise that many of you just want to hear the story in a oner but this is how me and Mike discovered the story, bit by bit, and not like you buggers by just hitting the refresh button every 10 minutes!

Mike - I would contact Jeff Moyes at AFN - he's the longest-serving member of staff at Porsche that I can think off. Although he wasn't at Isleworth back in '69 he might be able to shed some light on the car - if you need his contact details pm me.

Excuse my ignorance but 'assuming' this Paddy fella owned the car at some point, what is his significance other than being in motorsport, isn't it just like that Button fella owning an RS at some point in time.

I would agree the famous former owner isn't the significant part. There is every chance that all 'special customers' are famous/racing drivers

He will be a useful contact as he may have access to information about it's early history.

No you've got this wrong. Its a RHD conversion, non-original colour, not even a correct chassis number, in bits, with 3 owners by the first day it was sold.

Bet Mike is gutted. If he'd known this before hand he'd have bid the farmer £750 instead of £1500.

I don't see any fortune at the moment, but if it ever came our way (which is not the point of this story), I would like to think that Brendan and I are the kind of guys that would.
