So in summary so far

1/ Chassis and engine number indicate it is the first E and therefore also in the running to be the first LWB car.
2/ It didn't come into the UK through AFN but is RHD. Private import (e.g. service personal stationed in Germany), made for a different RHD market or LHD to RHD conversion seem to be the possibilities.
3/ Has a later registration number which indicates it was imported into the UK at a later date.
4/ Research took them all over the world and became pretty convincing.
5/ Three Scotsmen had to negatiate a price between them so this story probably started in 2009.

No Bert. No.

But Ian said "service personel stationed in Germany".
Now I saw a film about Elvis doing that. I think this car might be his...

So we were in the barn again....... This time early December 2011,
Surprisingly, after our previous dance around a potential price, the negotiations to buy the car took about 30 seconds. We suggested a number, a higher number was asked for, we compromised half way and hands were shook. Money changed hands and the loading began. We had her all secured and the parts loaded in double quick time. The whole turnaround was not much more than an hour and we were on our way outta there!
For what it's worth the negotiations were between an Irishman an Englishman and a Scotsman but despite the language barrier those negotiations were fast!,

All ours!

We stopped a couple of times to check the straps and we could 'admire' our new purchase. Not much to look at but I've seen a lot worse restored by expert hands on DDK.

It looks like light blue the same as Vickys car.
Nope, there seems to be another colour underneath if you look at the chips.

Brendan and Leslie with engine and box

I have to say Leslie is a top bloke. Totally none Porsche minded but his enthusiasm and help was invaluable. He totally got wound up in the story. The journey to get the car and the trip back was full of questions. He totally 'gets' the significance of the find. Our chit chat in the van was full of humour and laughs and full on commitment to 'get the job done'.

So, thank you Leslie for your full support and dampening those thoughts that we were a couple of 'cranks' buying what, on the surface, looked like a shed of an old 911

I like your style. Now if we are talking names may I suggest Eve, what with the car being the first of its kind.

Kind regards.
