Don McCullin's Nikon F!

Keith, it was 'The Destruction Business' published in 1971 that made me want to be a photographer.

The Nikon of Japanese photographer Taizo Ichinose. He survived this incident (in Vietnam) but sadly was later killed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

Up until Tim Hetherington was killed last year in Misrata, we had been lucky not to lose more British photographers in conflict zones.
You have to go back to 1989 and Ian Parry who was killed during the Romanian revolution, to this day the Sunday Times runs an
annual scholarship for young photographers in his honour.

Margarette Driscoll wrote his obituary for the Sunday Times on New Years Eve 1989:

“Last Wednesday Ian Parry made a typically generous gesture.
It was his last night in Romania and to celebrate going home he
took a group of fellow photographers to dinner and picked up
the bill. The next morning he knocked on their hotel room doors
to ask if they had film they would like him to take back. He had
a seat on a supply plane leaving for Belgrade at 10.30am.
A few hours later he was dead.”

Sadly I was one of those photographers with him for that last meal.

I'd love an early custom , maybe a '36 ford with a La Salle grille and a padded Carson top done Westgaurd style .
Here's my rather sad interpration of a '50's sled I built about twenty odd years ago .
Wonder if it's still around , I'd love to have it back for old times sake . It would make a good lawn ornament .
